Map Your Ideal Day

You’re a creative explorer in bloom. You know there’s something else for you other than what you’re doing right now and you need to figure out what it looks like.

But you’ve been living this life so long that seeing anything different right now is hard. You have no telescope to see how things would look like if you dove right into all your interests. You have no map to guide you on your way (yet!).

Here’s what you can do to start:

Map out your ideal day.

Start with a blank piece of paper and draw what your ideal day looks like. Mind Map it or write it out, from when you get up to when you go to bed:

  • Where do you live?
  • Who are you with?
  • What do you do all day?
  • Do you do this with other people?
  • What do you do for entertainment/work/etc?
  • What does your house look like? Your car? Your clothes?
  • Any other juicy details. Remember, this is your fantasy. ANYTHING goes.

And for the bonus: Pick out some pieces of that ideal day you can have right now.

If, in your ideal day, you wake up to the smell of bacon that’s cooked by your personal chef, why not have bacon tomorrow morning?

If, in your ideal day, you live by the ocean, why not plan a trip to a big body of water (a lake or pond will do)? Or if there’s one within an hour or so, take a trip this weekend or this afternoon.

There’s no reason to postpone your ideal day stuff. Having a taste, exploring how to get this stuff into your life NOW, will help you enjoy your NOW so much more.

So, make that map! And if you feel like it, share it in the comments below.
